The Algerian National Hydrocarbons Company SONATRACH and Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding, which provides a framework for companies to explore means of cooperation on the supply and trading of hydrocarbons, said a statement from SONATRACH.

“SONATRACH and Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited signed a memorandum of understanding on April 1, 2021,” said the same source.

This Memorandum of Understanding provides a “framework for companies to explore means of cooperation on the supply and trading of crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products as well as on trade in environmental products”, the National Company said.

The Document will also allow “the two companies to discuss ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve carbon management practices,” the statement added. (APS)
