Facies-Based Seismic Inversion

Ikon Science employs a novel Bayesian inversion technique that simultaneously inverts for facies and elastic properties. This facies-based inversion provides the following advantages:

  1. It uses rock physics models for each individual facies, rather than a single low-frequency model, improving accuracy.
  2. It updates the low-frequency model during the inversion process itself, constrained by per-facies trends and seismic data match.
  3. It benefits from having a tailored rock physics model and low-frequency model per facies, optimizing the inversion results.

Rock Physics Analysis

Rock physics analysis is an integral part of Ikon Science’s quantitative interpretation (QI) workflows. This includes techniques like:

  1. Fluid substitution modeling
  2. Synthetic seismic modeling
  3. Well-tie and wavelet estimation for broadband seismic data

The rock physics analysis provides critical inputs for the facies-based seismic inversion, enabling more reliable predictions of lithology, pore fluids, and net rock volume.

Experienced Geoscientists

Ikon Science has experienced geoscientists skilled in advanced QI workflows like rock physics, seismic data conditioning, seismic inversion, and litho-fluid classification. Their expertise in integrating these techniques allows optimizing seismic data for hydrocarbon exploration while mitigating risks.

In summary, Ikon Science de-risks hydrocarbon exploration by combining facies-based seismic inversion, robust rock physics analysis, and the experience of skilled geoscientists to extract maximum value from seismic data.
