Exalo Drilling has signed a contract with PanAfrican Energy Tanzania Ltd. which is the operator on the gas field located around Songo Songo Island.

This will be Exalo Drilling’s first contract in Tanzania, but the company already has years of experience in drilling operations on the African continent. The contract covers the workover of three wells, 2 workovers and 1 sidetrack. The IRI 1200 RIG#202 drilling rig will be used for the operations and is scheduled to start drilling in mid-September 2021. Currently, preparations are being made to mobilize the rig, which will be transported from the Exalo Mechanical Workshop in Piła to the Port of Gdynia. From there, it will set off for Africa by sea in mid-July.

The drilling works will be carried out on a part of the extensive Songo Songo natural gas field, located about 15 km from mainland Tanzania and more than 200 km south of the country’s largest city Dar es Salaam.

Acquiring a new business partner in Africa is a huge success for Exalo Drilling S.A.  and a continuation of the company’s strategy of building a recognizable and strong position of the Exalo brand on African markets.

Presence in these regions of the world increases competitiveness on the local markets of drilling services and creates great opportunities to gain new business partners.
