Guelph Gas Limited a cutting-edge renewable energies focus company with utmost commitment to revolutionizing the energy landscape in Nigeria through its various innovative natural gas-oriented projects has performed the groundbreaking ceremony of Guelph Gas Limited’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mother Station in Ibesikpo, Akwa Ibom State.

The groundbreaking milestone ceremony recently performed by the Minister of State for Petroleum Gas Honourable Ekperikpe Ekpo was part of the ongoing efforts to drive Nigeria’s gas revolution by the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

The three million standard cubic feet per day CNG mother station project in Ibesikpo aimed to supply natural gas via CNG to commercial and industrial customers in the South-South and South-Eastern parts of the country not currently connected to the country’s gas pipeline network.

“As an indigene of Akwa Ibom, I take pride in the commitment of the government and people of the state to foster growth and innovation. I must commend His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, for creating a supportive and enabling investment environment that stimulates economic development and generates job opportunities for our citizens.

“This CNG project is a clear example of how our nation can leverage its vast natural gas resources to fuel a cleaner and more prosperous future. CNG is not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly, offering a real solution to reducing carbon emissions,” Hon. Minister stated.

Hon. Ekperikpe further expressed his profound joy towards the commitment and confidence Guelph Gas Limited has in the present administration through its various natural gas commercialization and monetization initiatives and policies by venturing into this capital-intensive project

He stated that Guelph’s 3mmscf CNG project and other similar gas-oriented projects across the nation are poised to reposition the power sector as a gas-driven energy industry noting the abundant and cleaner nature of the product, its accessibility and economic importance.

“I also applaud Guelph Gas Limited for their strong belief in our gas sector and for taking bold steps to invest in Nigeria’s energy future. The Federal Government remains committed to supporting projects like this and ensuring they succeed across all regions of the country. Through these efforts, we are not only expanding access to energy but also building a more resilient economy that empowers our youth and ensures long-term sustainability,’ He added.

The Guelph Gas 3mmscf per day CNG Plant groundbreaking ceremony in Akwa Ibom is coming weeks after a similar event, the Nsik Oil and Gas’s 10MMSCF/D CNG Mother Station Facility in Uqua Isi Edoho, was performed by the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo in Akwa Ibom.

The Honorable Minister was also recently in Rivers State for the commissioning of the first modular LPG extraction plant and a 20-megawatt gas-to-power project at the Otakikpo field, owned by the Green Energy and Lekoil Joint Venture (JV) in Rivers State.
