Nigerian state oil company NNPC Limited and partners have recorded significant progress in December 2025, following the completion of the AKK mainline pipeline welding works and pressure testing. The 614 km AKK pipeline project is now 90% completed, and it is expected to be commissioned in 2026.

The Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline, which recently achieved a milestone by crossing the River Niger, has received all equipment, materials, and personnel required for the completion and has been duly mobilized to the site.

The geotechnical data acquisition has been completed, and early construction works are ongoing in preparation for the commencement of drilling.
