The Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has commended Backbone Infrastructure Nigeria Ltd. (BINL), an infrastructural and energy investment and development firm, for its efforts and tenacious involvement in strengthening capacity and support for the nation’s aspiration to increase oil production.

The minister made this statement during a courtesy visit to his office by the top management team of Backbone Infrastructure Nigeria Ltd. (BINL), led by its Group CEO, Mr. Henry Owonka. While assuring them of the ministry continued support, he emphasized the importance of local content in driving growth and innovation.

“As we work to deepen participation and retain in-country value, indigenous service providers must remain at the forefront of our sectoral activities. We can build a resilient and prosperous petroleum sector that benefits all Nigerians,” Minister Lokpobiri stated on his official X handle.

Senator Lokpobiri has been at the forefront of the upstream investment drive in the Nigerian oil and gas sector, particularly in the quest to ramp up crude production in Nigeria through the resuscitation and re-entry of abandoned marginal oil wells, as well as the drilling of new oil wells.

BINL is currently running several infrastructural projects in Nigeria ranging from the north to south backbone transportation infrastructure to support the BINL Route 1, 2, 3 and 6 Corridors, as well as other important infrastructure projects along the Corridors, such as Railway, Deep-Sea Port, Oil Refinery, Renewable Energies, Power Plants, Hospitality, Natural Gas and Telecommunication
