
The Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Dr. Ekperikpe Ekpo has reiterated the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to revamp moribund economically oriented facilities in the energy sector.
Ekpo stated this pledge on a working visit to Kaztec’s Snake Island Fabrication Facility and Freezone in Lagos State.
Ekpo, who disclosed this wonderful economic recovery venture on his official X handle, thanked the Chairman of Kaztec, Sir. Emeka Offor for his patriotism for believing in and investing heavily in Nigeria, and reiterated that the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is dedicated to promoting Local Content and National Energy security, and that efforts will be made to ensure that erstwhile abandoned projects.
He stated that abandonment of Kaztec’s Snake Island Fabrication Facility and Freezone has led to a downturn in the Fabrication Facility’s activities in the Nigerian oil and gas industry and that timely revamping of such magnificent edifice is expected to help the Industry to quicken in the ramping up production of oil and gas for both export and domestic use.
Chairman Kaztec Engineering Limited, Sir. Emeka Offor, in his brief description of the state-of-the-art facility, stated that the Kaztec Fabrication Facility is a 100% indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Construction, and Management (EPIC-M) Company that employed over 2,500 direct staff in the past, with plans to ramp up to about 7,000 at its peak.
Kaztec’s Snake Island Fabrication Facility and Freezone, which is designed to make it the largest EPIC Company in the Country and, by extension, in the West African Sub-region, can fabricate up to 15,000 tons of steel per year and potentially retain over $500 million for Oil and Gas projects in-country.
