As the Crude Oil Supply Pipeline Availability stands at 96%
Nigeria’s Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) 614 km x 40-Inch Gas Pipeline Project has reached 88% completion, following the latest September monthly report release from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).
The milestone achievement of the country’s major pipeline infrastructure project being executed by OILSERV, a leading indigenous EPC Nigeria company with global presence, is coming barely a few months after the company announced an unprecedented feat in the ongoing nation’s critical economic project by the completion of its Horizontal Directional Drilling HDD River Crossing of the River Niger.
The AKK Pipeline project from Ajaokuta to a mid-way between Abuja and Kaduna, commenced in the first quarter of 2020 and has undoubtedly repositioned Nigeria on the global gas pipeline infrastructure map, thereby unlocking Nigeria’s huge economic benefits arising from its natural gas endowment.
Also included in the report are the progress and efforts on the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) 130 km (approximately 127 km) 48-inch gas pipeline project, designed to transport 2.2 billion standard cubic feet of gas daily, connecting the AKK gas pipeline, which the NNPC stated is currently 96% completed.
Oilserv’s expertise is extended to the commissioning of its ANOH-OB3 CTMS Gas Pipeline Project in May 2024, a critical component in the nation’s gas infrastructure. Spanning 23.3 kilometres, this transmission pipeline, meticulously engineered by Oilserv Limited, serves as the lifeline for transporting dry gas from the Assa North–Ohaji South primary treatment facility to the OB3 Custody Transfer Metering Station.
On the condition and availability of the nation’s crude oil and gas upstream pipeline system, the NNPCL, in its report, stated that the 98% availability of this critical economic infrastructure in September under review has subsequently improved Nigeria’s total Crude Oil & Condensate Production to 1.61M BOPD
