
Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas NLNG and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in the two-day NLNG Community Vendors Training Programme, 23rd March 2026, in Port Harcourt, acquainted host community contractors with a broader approach to contract bidding and funding as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community vendor capacity and enhance participation in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
Day one of the programme featured an overview of the Community Development initiative, and opening remarks that highlighted the importance of compliance with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, promotion of Nigerian content, and sustainable community engagement.
During the Technical sessions, the vendors were enlightened on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), Ethics and Compliance, and key provisions of the NOGICD Act, including NCEC requirements, NOGIC JQS registration, and access to the Nigerian Content Fund (NCF).
Participants were also trained in financial management for MSMEs, with additional insights focused on financial planning and access to funding through designated funds management banking institutions and the NLNG Cooperative Fund Microfinance Scheme.
The programme further addressed tax compliance obligations under the new Tax Reform Act. Participants gained updated knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, safety standards, ethical practices, and financial management, positioning them for enhanced participation in industry opportunities.
