The Nigerian oil and gas sector has witnessed a remarkable milestone following the official deployment of over 1,000 young professionals into NNPC Ltd after one year of internship, intensive training, and evaluation.

According to the corporation’s Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO Engr Bayo Ojulari, the successful recruitment of young Nigerian professionals in the firm serves as a defining moment in the existence of the company, following the transparency and clear-cut nature of the recruitment process, and the enshrinement of its mission and core vision of existence.

“During the event, I listened to some of them share their recruitment stories, raw, unscripted, and real. Different paths, but the same door. And we opened it. That’s what NNPC Ltd stands for today: not who you know or where you’re from, but what you can do.”

Engr. Ojulari hailed the resilience and level of professionalism exhibited by the young recruits during the training period, describing it as worthy of the offer of their appointment letters, having passed through the rigorous pressure of continuous assessment and the standards set by the recruitment and training exercises.

He further called on the 1000 newly recruited staff to channel their untapped knowledge and potential towards unlocking the great developmental strides in line with the vision and aspirations of the current administration as they proffer workable solutions to future challenges that might face the corporation.

“Their offer letters got them in, but their work this past year kept them here. They proved themselves day after day under real pressure, and that’s the standard we’re building. Talent. Hard work. Fairness,” He posited.

“To the over 1,000 newly deployed: you are not just our future. You are our present. Our energy. Our proof. So don’t hesitate to lend your voice, share your opinions, and challenge the status quo. Own your development,” He added.

But don’t forget the wait. Don’t forget the process. Because one day, when you’re sitting where I am, you’ll remember this moment, and you’ll open that same door for someone else.
