OILSERV a leading indigenous EPC Nigeria company with global presence has announced that the company has achieved an unprecedented feat in the ongoing nation’s Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) 614 km x 40-Inch Gas pipeline project by the completion of its Horizontal Directional Drilling HDD River Crossing of River Niger according to the company’s statement in its official X handled.

This milestone is a testament to the Company’s technological know-how in handling such a complex project in the oil and gas sector. Owing to the company’s prowess and pedigree in the execution of gigantic pipeline projects of this nature, OILSERV has already achieved significant progress by achieving more than 70% completion of the project

The project, which traverses from Ajaokuta to a mid-way between Abuja and Kaduna, was commenced in the first quarter of 2020 and has automatically repositioned Nigeria on the pedestal of the global gas map, thereby unlocking its huge economic benefits arising from its natural gas endowment.

“We have successfully crossed the 40-inch x 1.6km Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline through the River Niger using the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) special technique, minimizing environmental impact,” the company announced on its x handled.

For many years, the country had been hindered by the absence of gas transmission pipelines in this region in its bid to harness its abundant gas reserves for the provision of gas to generate power, and stimulate rapid industrialization using gas as feedstock for fertilisers, ammonia, and other petrochemical applications.

Oilserv Limited’s expertise is extended to the commissioning of its ANOH-OB3 CTMS Gas Pipeline Project in May 2024, a critical component in the nation’s gas infrastructure. Spanning 23.3 kilometres, this transmission pipeline, meticulously engineered by Oilserv Limited, serves as the lifeline for transporting dry gas from the Assa North–Ohaji South primary treatment facility to the OB3 Custody Transfer Metering Station.

With an estimated capacity of 600 MMscf/d, this pipeline underscores Oilserv’s commitment to excellence in engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC), setting the stage for enhanced gas delivery and utilization across Nigeria.

Oilserv Limited has proven its strength in oil and gas pipeline and flowline projects, including oil and gas facilities (gas metering stations and flow stations), as well as in Gas Power Generation. Activities in these areas cover Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Fabrication, Installation, Commissioning, Repairs, Maintenance, Upgrade, Rehabilitation, and Project Management
