Oilserv Limited has continued to entrench the awesome philosophy and unequivocal belief of its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Sir. Emeka Okwuosa, that real progress is not only measured in kilometres of pipelines laid or projects delivered, but also in strengthened, dignity-preserving, and empowered communities, especially the host communities where the major operations are executed.
Dr. Okwuosa’s belief has metamorphosed into the establishment of Sir. Emeka Okwuosa Foundation (SEOF), through which he finds significant expression in Oilserv’s enduring collaboration with Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation (SEOF), a partnership rooted in purpose, compassion, and shared responsibility.
Oilserv Limited has carved a niche in the Nigerian oil and gas industry by establishing outstanding community relations with its host communities, which have invariably doused any preconceived conflict at its operational locations. This excellence in community social responsibility has become part of the company’s routine and policy.
As part of Oilserv’s Community Social Responsibility initiative for the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project, the company has been resolute in implementing memoranda of understanding with the host community where the company’s pipeline traverses and was recently displayed as the company commissioned a solar-powered borehole in Aku Community, Adavi Local Government Area, Kogi State.
The company’s unwavering commitment to its host communities’ social responsibility has been carried out in these communities through the employment of indigenes in mainstream contracts, projects, and the execution of community – oriented infrastructural development and capacity building through professional training.
The commissioning of a multi-million-naira power project in Aku Community, Adavi Local Government Area, Kogi State, is one of the ways Oilserv is providing a reliable and sustainable source of water powered by renewable energy, contributing beyond infrastructure delivery, and creating value that will last over time.
Oilserv’s unwavering commitment to the peaceful resolution of its host community demands through the execution of communities’ social responsibility projects has contributed greatly to the timely completion of projects in these communities, creating a mutual interface between human resources and project execution, resulting in useful manhours.
The successful and timely completion of its segment of the OBB3 gas pipeline project, which recently achieved a historic milestone of River Niger crossing, and the 80% completion of the 614 kilometres AKK gas pipeline project, which has equally achieved a historic milestone of crossing River Niger, are all testaments to the host communities’ symbiotic relationship with Oilserv.
Apart from AKK and OBB3 gas pipeline projects, Oilserv is currently executing other major gas-oriented pipeline projects, among others, including the TotalEnergies Ubeta gas pipeline project and the NLNG gas pipeline project. The projects, since inception, have not experienced any host community interference, attributing this calm serenity to the company’s already existing relationship with its host communities.
