OILSERV KICKS OFF AKK Pipeline Project

OILSERV a leading indigenous EPC Nigeria company with global presence has finally commenced the nation’s Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline project. The company has been awarded the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the first segment of the 614 km x 40-Inch Gas pipeline, which expanses from Ajaokuta to a mid-way between Abuja and Kaduna.

 The commencement of this laudable project has automatically repositioned Nigeria in the pedestrian of global gas map hereby unlocking her huge economic benefits arising from its natural gas endowment. For many years, the country had been hindered by absence of gas transmission pipelines in this region in her bid to harness its abundant gas reserves for provision of gas to generate power, and stimulate rapid industrialization using gas as feedstock for fertilisers, ammonia and other petrochemical applications.

Owing to the company’s prowess and pedigree in the execution of gigantic pipelines projects of this nature, OILSERV has already achieved significant progress in a short spate of time these includes; ongoing detailed engineering design, topographical and geotechnical surveys, haulage and stacking of line pipes in preparation to commence construction activities.

In his words, the Group Managing Director of NNPC Melle Kolo Kyari emphasized the importance of this project in fast tracking the nation’s growing economy.

 “The AKK project is a key to resolving the power deficit challenge of the country. Its multiplier effect on the economy and provisions of jobs will be unprecedented. NNPC will give all necessary support to the Contractors to enable them deliver the project within time and within budget” He posited.

In the same vein, the Chairman of OILSERV Ltd, Engr. Emeka Okwuosa in his speech, restated his company’s utmost commitment towards effective, efficient and timely delivering of this project without compromising global quality and standards. 

“The capability of OILSERV has been honed in the course of successful delivery of landmark EPC contracts such as lot B of the 48inch OB3 gas pipeline system that is currently being commissioned” Engr Okwuosa emphasized.

He further pledged that OILSERV will leave no stone unturned in partnering with NNPC to make AKK project a dream come true to over 200million Nigerians aspirations to witness an era of uninterrupted power supply in Nigeria. He also expressed his company’s unalloyed gratitude to the NNPC for this exceptional opportunity given to Oilserv as a proof of confidence and reliance they have in the company to execute such project.  The optimism and hope that this development represents is a clear elixir that is surely needed by the entire nation at this time global economic recovery.
