Gabon resilient pursuit to up its crude oil production level has been championed by Perenco. The oil company via its recent update on April 27, 2023 to the Minister of Oil, Vincent de Paul Massassa has stated its various initiated projects in Gabon. According to New Garbo media, the company has disclosed its plans to develop new projects around the Tchatamba field in the province of Ogooué-Maritime, in the south of Gabon. There is talk of installing a new platform in Tchatamba Sud with new exploration drilling which will require an investment of 300 million dollars (178.3 billion FCFA) over the next 3 years, informed Denis Chatelan, Perenco director. Africa.

“This project being developed with Tullow our partner, in Tchatamba Sud, in the coming months we are going to install a new living quarter to be able to rationalize the operation, install a new platform next year and drill new boreholes”, indicated Denis Chatelan, at the end of the hearing.

Through this project, Perenco, the leading oil producer in Gabon with just over 100,000 barrels per day, intends to increase its production in Gabon. And this according to the Minister of Petroleum will have positive effects on the country’s economy and on the people.

It should be noted that Perenco has planned to invest more than 450 million dollars (260.8 billion FCFA) in 2022 to increase its oil production and develop gas activity in Gabon.
