In demonstration of his administration commitment towards development of the nation’s critical gas infrastructural projects, the Nigerian President Mr Ahmed Bola Tinubu has on Wednesday commissioned Oilserv’s ANOH PTF – OB3 CTMS gas export pipeline project in located in Assa Imo State. This laudable project commissioning event was performed by the Mr President virtually from the Aso Rock in Abuja.

Present at the ground breaking commissioning ceremony were eminent dignitaries who include representatives of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporations and its partners, Imo State Government and Traditional Rulers and other stakeholders in the energy sector.

The President in his virtual project commissioning reiterated his administration’s unalloyed commitment in accelerating the development of critical gas infrastructure geared at enhancing the supply of energy to boost industrial growth, He emphasized that the projects are fully in line with the Nigerian Decade of Gas initiative, and the Federal Government is poised to grow value from the nation’s abundant gas assets while concurrently eliminating gas flaring and accelerating industrialization.

“It is pleasing that approximately 500MMscf of gas in aggregate would be supplied to the domestic market from these two Gas Processing Plants, which represents over 25% incremental growth in gas supply. In practical terms this is more gas to the Power Sector, Gas-Based Industries and other critical segments of the economy. I therefore commend the strategic vision of the NNPC Limited and its partners Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) and Seplat Energy Plc for this laudable and value adding projects.

“From the outset of this administration, we have been very clear of our intention to leverage on the virtually unlimited capacity of gas to drive economic growth. Aside from the presidential CNG initiative which is aimed at moving the good people of Nigeria away from petrol and diesel as vehicular combustion fuel, significant progress has also been recorded in incentivising gas development through Presidential Executive Orders.

“I wish to assure the citizenry that indeed these are just the beginning, as the federal government is stepping up its coordination of other landmark projects and initiatives that will ensure the earliest realization of gas fueled prosperity in our country.

Consequently, I wish to assure investors in the energy space that this is an investment enabling government and we will not relent in facilitating the ease of doing business.

“The theme of this commissioning – “From Gas to Prosperity; Renewed Hope” must be adopted by all gas sector participants and would-be investors as a clarion call to ramp up efforts to accelerate investment and developments of projects in the gas sector on a win-win basis.

“I would once again commend the efforts of NNPC Ltd, alongside SEEPCO and Seplat Energy on this business partnership initiative and congratulate you all on the successful implementation of the three projects.”

The ANOH-NNPC Gas Pipeline and associated end Facilities and the ANOH-OB3 CTMS Gas Pipeline Projects are both executed by Oilserv Limited, a leading indigenous EPCIC company. These projects signify a significant advancement in Nigeria’s gas industry, expected to collectively yield 1,400 million standard cubic feet per day. The completion of these projects have underscored Nigeria’s commitment to maximizing gas resources, reducing flaring, and stimulating economic growth through enhanced domestic supply.

The ANOH-NNPC Gas Pipeline and its associatedend Facilities, a masterpiece crafted by Oilserv Limited, stands as a testament to indigenous expertise and innovation. With an integrated capacity of 300MMscf/d, this state-of-the-art gas processing infrastructure is strategically located in Imo State, poised to tap into the abundant non-associated gas reservoirs of the Assa North-Ohaji South field. Engineered to produce dry gas, condensate, and LPG, the ANOH-NNPC Gas project is poised to revolutionize Nigeria’s energy landscape, fuelling increased power generation and catalysing rapid industrialization.

Furthermore, Oilserv Limited’s expertise extends to the ANOH-OB3 CTMS Gas Pipeline Project, a critical component in the nation’s gas infrastructure. Spanning 23.3 kilometres, this transmission pipeline, meticulously engineered by Oilserv Limited, serves as the lifeline for transporting dry gas from the Assa North – Ohaji South primary treatment facility to the OB3 Custody Transfer Metering Station. With an estimated capacity of 600MMscf/d, this pipeline underscores Oilserv commitment to excellence in engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commission (EPCIC), setting the stage for enhanced gas delivery and utilization across Nigeria.

The impending mechanical completion of the ANOH-OB3 CTMS Gas Pipeline Project by May 15, 2024, heralds a new era of progress and prosperity for Nigeria. Upon commissioning, these visionary projects are poised to bolster the nation’s gas supply by approximately 500mmscf/d, fostering an environment conducive to investment and fostering inclusive economic growth. As affirmed by the Mr President, these initiatives underscore the current administration’s unwavering dedication to driving sustainable development and shaping a brighter future for Nigeria’s energy landscape.
