The American global energy giant SLB formerly known as Schlumberger has recently reiterated investment commitment in Africa oil and gas sector. This veritable development is coming after its recent commissioning of regional office in Nigeria and plan expansion of operation in Gabon oil and gas sector.
The Global technology company, SLB said it has officially opened its new West Africa regional office in Lagos, Nigeria. In October 2022, the company launched a new identity focusing on energy innovation and decarbonization to address the world’s energy needs today and to forge the road ahead for the energy transition.
The new West Africa office reflects this new identity and will optimize employee experience and create a sustainable business environment for all stakeholders and of 70th Anniversary of SLB’s presence in Nigeria
Its modern design embodies the company’s bold sustainability roadmap through daylight harvesting, interactive and collaborative hotspots for employees, disability access and other exciting features that bring forward the company’s evolved identity and culture.
Delivering his speech at the office opening in Lagos, Sopiribo Ideriah, managing director for SLB in West Africa countries, said, “As a technology leader, our unmatched market breadth, differentiated performance, and unique portfolio of products and service, has always positioned us for growth and advancement in the energy industry. All of this is owed to our people, who are the backbone of our organization. I would like to thank all SLB staff – past and present – for their commitment and passion in delivering high quality services to our customers.”

In the same vein, The company revealed plans to strengthen its presence in the oil sector in Gabon. This point was at the center of discussions between Miguel Batista, Managing Director Central, East and South Africa of Schlumberger, and Gabriel Tchango, Mayor of Port-Gentil on March 15 in the economic capital of Gabon, a-t- we learned from this commune.
In this context, Schlumberger has implemented a new CSR (corporate social responsibility) policy for its company, which aims for greater involvement in future community projects in the city of Port-Gentil.
The town hall of Port-Gentil does not give more details on the future projects of the oil services provider, which has nearly 500 employees in the economic capital, of which nearly 80% are Gabonese. Present in the Gabonese oil sector for several years, Schlumberger is a technology company that operates in more than 120 countries and provides digital solutions to enable the performance and sustainability of the energy sector.
