Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, has undertaken an inspection tour of the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) Midline Compressor Stations at Ologbo and Okada in Edo State as part of the Federal Government’s drive to accelerate gas availability, accessibility, and utilization.
According to the Minister, the project has the capacity to serve industries, commercial users, and power generation plants across Lagos and other parts of Western Nigeria, and the project is expected to play a pivotal role in improving gas supply reliability, supporting industrialisation & strengthening the nation’s energy security.
The Project highlights the current administration’s commitment to unlocking economic growth, enhancing energy security, and deepening domestic gas utilization through its various gas pipeline infrastructure development
Upon completion, the ELPS Midline Compressor Stations will significantly increase gas pressure along the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System, boosting the pipeline’s gas transportation to both industrial and domestic users
The Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) Midline Compressor Stations project is a vital natural gas infrastructure initiative in Nigeria designed to double the pipeline’s capacity from 1,100 MMSCFD to 2,200 MMSCFD. It features two midline compressor stations located in Edo State.Project Overview & Technical Details.
The midline compressor stations (CS1 and CS2) are strategically positioned to boost pressure along the pipeline, optimizing gas flow to commercial users and power plants in Lagos and across Western Nigeria.
